2017 was a wonderful year for us both professionally and personally! We settled into our new home, got to serve couples all over east Tennessee, photograph weddings at new venues like Enchanted Valley Barn and Swann Plantation, break some of our business goals and build our marriage and family. We are excited about 2018, new weddings and families to photograph.
2017 started with bridal consultations and engagement sessions, as well as our annual portrait event at Cedar Pond Farms in New Market, TN. We like the slower winter months to work on our education, improve our website and drill down on new goals and aspirations, plus plan for the wedding season which usually starts in the spring. It's also a time for birthdays and time off with friends and family! Visiting Nolichucky Vineyard with Sisters Vintage Rentals was another highlight of our 2017 year in March.
Spring was busier for us with the SkyMart Festival in downtown Morristown and its crowds of locals to view all the great crafters and artists on display. We also participated in Cornerstone Academy's Gala Auction to support their scholarship funds. Spring weddings in east Tennessee are beautiful, almost as good as fall and it is a privilege to be the choice for couples in our area.
May and June were our most busy seasons photographing weddings this year. After the rush of June brides, it felt good to plan a few fun activities for ourselves in the summer. We bought a snow cone maker and a zoo pass, both very enjoyable! An Instax camera was another fun thing to experiment with and we ended up using it at a few weddings this year.
Between senior and family sessions, trips to the bookstore, school supply hauls and more, fall passed quickly for our family and in our Everbright Photography family. We took a fantastic trip to Charleston, SC for a beach vacation, ate good food and just relaxed with the ocean sounds and great boat trips. Along with some family sessions, we did a fall wedding at Swann Plantation that was so beautiful and unique.
The end of 2017 finds us very excited about improving our wedding photography services and offering more to our Everbright Photography families with heirloom art and a better client experience. We are investing in new equipment and education, setting new goals (love a fresh start!), as well as gathering reviews from our clients and feedback on what we could do better. Leave us a comment if you have some ideas! Thank you to all our Everbright Photography family and we wish you all a happy and healthy 2018.
